International Organization for Standarization. It is an international non-governmental organization, composed of representatives from national standards bodies, that produces industrial standards and international trade. These rules are known as ISO standards and their purpose is to coordinate national standards, consistent with the Final Act of the World Trade Organization, in order to facilitate trade, facilitate the exchange of information and contribute to common standards for the development and transfer of technologies.
