Incoloy-825

Incoloy-825 is a Alloy nickel-iron-chromium with additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium. The chemical composition of the Alloy It is designed to provide a high resistance to many corrosive environments. The high nickel (of 38% to the 46%) along with molybdenum and copper, gives exceptional resistance in reducing environments such as those containing sulfur or phosphorus acids. The molybdenum also helps increase resistance to cracking (Crevice corrosion) and Stings (Pitting). The chromium content allows it to resist a variety of oxidants such as nitric acid, nitrates, and oxidizing salts. Adding titanium serves, with an appropriate heat treatment, to stabilize the Alloy against sensitization to Intergranular corrosion.
Incoloy resistance (r) 825 both general and localized corrosion in various conditions to broad utility Alloy. Applications include chemical treatment, pollution control, recovery of oil and gas, Acid production, reprocessing of nuclear fuel and radioactive waste management.
