precipitation hardened

This type of stainless steel industrial scale developed after World War II, as an alternative to increase the characteristics of mechanical strength by aging heat treatment.
These steels are called “endurecibles by precipitation” o PH (precipitation hardening) and offer an alternative to austenitic stainless steels when they want to associate with high mechanical properties and machinability. Alloys are iron-chromium-nickel characterized by the mechanical strength obtained from the hardening by aging heat treatment. These degrees can be classified according to their structure in a state of Annealing and the resulting performance after aging treatment, as austenitic, the semi-austenitic martensíticos.
The precipitation hardenable steels are patented and are often designated with the initials of the company manufacturer.
