Space heaters serve to heat the space air for use in potentially explosive areas with hazardous dust, in zones 21 and 22. The enclosed housing from painted steel serves to prevent dust from depositing on the hot surfaces. The surface temperature of the heater is limited by design. The maximum permissible surface temperature is 2/3 of the lowest occurring ignition temperature .
