Description

HIDH drum heater for areas with potentially explosive atmospheres is designed for heating standard drums 205 liters or smaller steel tanks. HIDH drum heater comprises a single induction coil, which is encapsulated in a cylinder made of a resin material reinforced glass.

The coil is connected to the current and generates heat directly and evenly on the walls of the drum. The energy transfer is accomplished by a magnetic field. Thus there Thermal Transmission by conventional means of radiation or convection. With no hot items, the coil remain substantially colder than the container being heated.

Security

The complete absence of hot elements and encapsulation of all electrical components allows its use in hazardous areas Zones 1 and 2.
The drum heater is certified HIDH ATEX Ex II 2 G/D EEx”e” IIC T3 (170 °C).

The uniform heating without hot spots reduces the risk of product degradation. The accidental spill does not present a fire hazard and staff can work comfortably in its vicinity. This allows the material to be heated at the point of use, eliminating conveying hot drums.

The low temperature of the system and the absence of heat losses Thermal Transmission contribute to the high Efficiency induction heater. In comparison with conventional drum heaters is achieved energy savings of up to 50%.

Speed

The heating times depend on the contents of the drum, but to give one rough idea, the Ramp rise in temperature of a typical viscous organic liquid is approx. 15 ºC / h. Using the full surface of the wall for transmitting energy heater, can achieve the optimum operating point and faster with no product degradation.

Maintenance

No heating elements and no moving parts, HIDH drum heaters have virtually unlimited life, and no maintenance is required.
