Electrical gas heaters are used for heating various gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, natural gas and many other process gases and gas mixtures. The medium is heated through a constant heat exchange between the electrical heating elements and the medium as it flows through . The construction of the heater is determined by the operating temperature and operating pressure, as well as the medium and volumetric flow. Gas heaters are equipped with connecting chambers of protection type Exd or Exe for use in areas in zones 1 or 2 if an explosive atmosphere may arise at the installation site. No potentially explosive area usually exists inside the heater itself, because the plant operator is required to ensure that the presence of explosive gas mixtures is excluded. However, we do also offer solutions that are suitable if an Ex zone may arise inside the heater.
